Judgment Day se realizó el 27 de mayo de 2012.
En este evento se unificaron dos campeonatos, el Divas Championship y el Women's Championship.
Contexto[]
En el PPV anterior, Extreme Rules 2012, Drew McIntyre se había convertido en el nuevo Campeón Intercontinental al derrotar a Kofi Kingston. McIntyre una semana después defendió su título ante el anterior campeón, pero Kingston no podría recuperar el título en la revancha. En la semana siguiente McIntyre se lesionaría y tendría que dejar vacante su reciente campeonato. En Judgment Day el título vacante fue puesto en juego en una Battle Royal match, la cual contó con la participación de R-Truth, Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan, Jack Swagger, Hunico y Justin Gabriel.
Debido a la disminución en la profundidad del roster femenino, el presidente Mr. McMahon determinó que el Divas Championship y el Women's Championship se unificaran en una lucha con las dos campeonas, y que el título que seguiría existiendo sería el de la ganadora del encuentro. Ésta ha sido la única vez que dos títulos femeninos se unifican en la compañía.
